Groundhog Day falls on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The tradition was born out of superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. German immigrants brought the tradition of forecasting weather into the United States. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the rest of winter.
This custom was born from an observation by scientists that mice hibernate in winter. The goal was to predict the next six weeks of the season by observing how the animals responded.
Groundhogs are part of Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals with hairy fur. It is hibernates in the winter months. On Groundhog Day, they are often seen peeking out of the burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday observed on the third Monday of February. The holiday honors to the previous American presidents. It is a day which is dedicated to the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and it has been Presidents Since the day it was first introduced.
Although it’s a federal holiday however, many states do not observe it. Some states honor both presidents simultaneously, while some only honor one president. The Presidents’ Day holiday is now widely accepted as a means of honoring all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled history. Washington’s Birthday was the first reason for the name of this celebration.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. It was declared an official federal holiday in the late 1870s. Congress approved the Uniform Monday holiday Act.

Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. Small, tiny meteors is released into space. They may appear in all directions. Some showers are more impressive then others. Nighttime is typically the best moment to observe.

Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most loved holidays in ancient Rome. In February, in the middle, a fertility and cleansing ceremony was celebrated. Priests offered animal sacrifices on an altar next to the Lapis Niger during the ritual. The hearth was saturated with the blood of the animal. It was thought that the hearth could provide fertile soil and protect the grain fields.
