Although it’s an official holiday, many states don’t observe it. While some states celebrate both presidents’ birthdays on the same day as others while other states only honor only one. Although Presidents’ day is now standard this holiday allows us to commemorate all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
The origins of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. The Washington’s Birthday was the initial name of the day’s celebration. Today the Presidents’ Day holiday is the official title.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an not a holiday recognized by the government but is widely known. It was recognized as an official holiday of the United States Congress in the 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was passed by Congress.
Meteors hurling storms

Four significant meteor showers occur each year. One of the most famous meteor showers is called the Quadrantid. This one is known for its brief but very powerful peak. The Lyrid Another one is famous for its unique surges. Furthermore the Geminid is famous for its sexy appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia holiday was very well-known in the ancient city of Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered sacrifices to animals at an altar next to the Lapis Niger during the rite. The hearth was filled with the animal’s blood. It was believed to be beneficial to the fertility of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia as well as Saturnalia were two other well-known Roman festivals. These celebrations were originally planned to celebrate Mars as the god of war.
Roman workweeks ran for eight days. There were two phases of each day: the morning and the afternoon. A nundin was eight days long. The remaining 29 days were called the remainder.
