Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion on the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first observed. This was the time when courtly love as well as ceremonies were still popular.
It was celebrated the love between romantic friends and lovers during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was a day where it was commonplace for friends and lovers to give gifts, flowers and cards.
By the beginning of the 19th century commercial cards were already made. Additionally, postcards printed in large quantities gained popularity. They were also very popular in shops as they could be displayed in themes.
Valentine’s Day is an old custom. You could buy your beloved an edible chocolate or candy present along with the gift of flowers or an e-card. You can also gift jewelry.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada however, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The tradition originated from a belief system in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. But Americans inherited the tradition of predicting weather forecasts from German immigrants. Punxsutawney Philip Punxsutawney Philip, one of the Pennsylvania groundhog, offers meteorological forecasts for the remainder of winter.
The tradition was born out of a discovery by scientists that mouse hibernates during winter. The plan was to forecast the next six weeks of the season based on observations of how the animals responded.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae group of tiny, hairy mammals. They hibernate during the winter months. In the early morning hours of Groundhog Day, they are frequently spotted peering out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday in February President’s Daylight is declared an American holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. The Presidents Day holiday served as a day to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
While it is a federal holiday however, many states do not observe it. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of the presidents on the exact day, while some states only honor one. However, Presidents’ Day is now widely accepted as a way to recognize all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
The origins of the Presidents’ Day holiday is complex. The Washington’s Birthday was the first name for the holiday and is now known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. But it became a recognized federal holiday in the late 1870s. Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year it is the time when the Earth crosses its circle around the sun which causes an explosion of tiny meteors to explode into space. On the horizon, they can appear all over the sky. Some showers are more stunning than others. The best time to view.
The Perseids meteor shower is among the most impressive and biggest of the meteor showers. This is because Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. It will be visible only in the Northern Hemisphere. However, because the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rates, it’s worth looking from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. One of the most famous meteor showers is the Quadrantid. This one is famous for its small but extremely strong peak. Another one is the Lyrid, which is known for its unique surges. The Geminid is renowned for its casual appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia festival was extremely well-known in the ancient city of Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony was held in February. The priests offered sacrifices of animals to an altar in front of the Lapis Niiger. Blood from the animal was poured in the hearth. The protection and fertility of the blood is believed to have been beneficial to the grain field.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations were recorded.
Other popular Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were originally planned to celebrate Mars, the god war.
The Roman week was eight days long. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning and afternoon. A nundin was an eight-day collection, the rest of the year being comprised of 29 days.
