Washington’s birthday, often referred to by the name Washington’s Day was a well-known nonofficial holiday. It was declared an official holiday of the United States Congress in the 1870s. Congress adopted the Uniform Monday holiday Act.

Meteor storms

The Lupercalia was among the most loved holidays in ancient Rome. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar to the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The blood of the animal was poured in the hearth. The grain fields were thought to benefit from its protection and fertility.

Ludi Ceriales is another celebration which was celebrated to honor Ceres the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in 202 BC.

Neptunalia was one of the more popular Roman festivities. The celebrations were initially planned to pay tribute to Mars and the god of war.

Roman workweeks lasted eight days. There were two periods to each day: morning and afternoon. Nundin was an 8-day collection, with the remainder of the year being made up of 29 days.
