Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that is a celebration of love, passion and is observed on February 14. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day was first celebrated. This was the time when courtly love as well as ceremonies were still popular.
It was considered a celebration that honored the love between romantic partners as well as close friends in the 14th-century. It was commonplace to send Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and gifts to each other.
At the start of the 19th century, commercial cards had been produced. The popularity of these cards grew due to the increasing demand of postcards printed in large quantities. These cards were then displayed in shops in themed displays.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your special someone a candy or chocolate present , along with a card or flower. You could also choose to present them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day, which is observed every February 2, is an annual event. It’s also a well-known holiday in Canada, but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The idea for this celebration came from superstition that was prevalent among Pennsylvanians speaking Dutch. The practice of forecasting weather was brought in America through German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog that provides forecasts for winter weather throughout the year.
The tradition was born when scientists found a mouse that hibernated in winter. The idea was to forecast the next six weeks by studying how animals react to the weather.
Groundhogs make up the Sciuridae group of tiny hairy mammals. In the winter months, their main goal is to hibernate. Groundhog Day’s morning, they are often seen peeking out of the burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is recognized as a national holiday. It honors past American presidents. The Presidents Day holiday served as a day of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it’s a federal holiday several states do not observe it. While some states recognize both presidents birthdays on the exact same day as others however, some states only recognize only one. However, Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as an opportunity to recognize all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
It has had a complex history. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the celebration. It is now Presidents Day.
Washington’s Birthday, also known as Washington’s Day, is an unofficial holiday that is well-known. It was recognized as an official holiday of the United States Congress in the 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Storms of Meteors
Each year, Earth’s orbit revolves around sun. Small, tiny meteors explodes into space. They are visible in all directions. Some showers are more spectacular than others. Nighttime is the best moment to see them.
Perseids is among the most beautiful and impressive meteor showers of the year 2018. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible for. Although it won’t be visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the huge fireballs observed within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth observing from there.
Each year there are four major meteor showers. The Quadrantid 1 is well-known for its potent but brief peak. One of the most notable for its distinctive surges is The Lyrid. A Geminid is well-known for its approachable.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in ancient Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was held. In this ceremony it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on an altar beside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was filled up with the animal’s blood. The fertility and protection of the blood is believed to be beneficial to the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the famous Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally planned to pay tribute to Mars and the god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two periods of each day: the morning and the afternoon. Nundin was an 8-day collection, the rest of the year made up of 29 days.
