February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love and passion that is observed every the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time that Valentine’s Day was first observed. This is a period when courtly love and the sacraments still were commonplace.
It was seen as an occasion to celebrate love between romantic partners and friends in the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was a day that was a time for lovers and friends to send gifts, flowers and cards.
Commercial cards were introduced by the early nineteenth century. Additionally, postcards produced in large quantities gained a lot of popularity. These cards were then displayed in shops in themed displays.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your special someone a candy or chocolate present along with a card or flower. You might also decide to present them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada However, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The celebration originated from an old-fashioned belief system that was rooted in Pennsylvanians from the Dutch. However, the custom of forecasting weather was introduced to the United States with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the rest of winter.
The practice was first introduced when scientists discovered mice that hibernate in winter. It was designed to predict the six weeks ahead by studying how animals react to weather conditions.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae group of small hairy mammals. During the winter, its primary goal is to hibernate. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a national holiday. It’s an honor to all previous American presidents. It was a time to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a federal holiday that is not observed by all states, despite it being one. Certain states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, whereas others only honor only one. The Presidents Day holiday is an opportunity to remember all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The story of the Presidents’ Day holiday is complex. Washington’s Birthday used to be the original name for the celebration. Now, it is known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday, also known as Washington’s Day was a well-known non-official holiday. In the 1870s, however it was declared an official holiday recognized by the federal government. As a result, Congress approved the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Storms of Meteors
Every year it is observed that the Earth orbits in the solar system. This triggers a rush of tiny meteors which are released into space. They are visible everywhere. Some showers are more impressive than others. It is at night that is the most ideal time of day to observe.
Perseids are one of the most impressive and spectacular meteor showers of the year. It is possible that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. While it is not visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs in the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth watching from there.
Every year there are four important meteor showers. The first is Quadrantid. Its short but powerful maximum is what is most famous. Another famous for its strange spikes is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also well-known for its warm appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia celebration was very popular in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was observed in February. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on an altar beside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was emptied of the blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial for fertility of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations can be traced back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were two other well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were initially planned to celebrate Mars, the god war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two parts to each day, the morning and the afternoon. A nundin was a collection consisting of eight days. The remaining 29 days comprised the rest of the calendar year.
