It was considered a celebration that celebrated the love between romantic partners as well as close friends in the 14th-century. Valentine’s Day was a day when it was customary for lovers and friends to send gifts, flowers, and cards.

Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae Family of small, hairy mammals. They hibernate during the winter months. The morning of Groundhog Day is when they can be seen peeking out of the burrows.

The third Monday of February President’s Daylight is declared a national holiday. It’s an honor to all former American presidents. In the past, Presidents Day has been a time of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.

Although it is an official holiday, not every state observes this holiday. While some states recognize both the presidents birthdays on the exact same day however, some states only recognize one. Presidents Day has become an opportunity to remember the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.

Presidents Day has had a tangled past. Washington’s Birthday was the first name given to the day of celebration. It is now known as Presidents Day.

Washington’s birthday, more commonly known as Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. However, it was recognized as a as a federal holiday in the 1870s. As a result, Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.

Meteor storms

Each year, the Earth is in circle around the sun which causes a torrent of small meteors to explode into space. They can appear anywhere in the sky. Some showers are more stunning than others. The best time to see them is at night.

Perseids is one of most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of 2018. It is because the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the primary cause. It’s visible only from the Northern Hemisphere. However, due to the fact that the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rates, it’s worthwhile looking from there.

There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. One of the most well-known meteor showers is the Quadrantid. This shower is known for its short but very powerful peak. Another one of the most famous for its bizarre spikes is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also well-known for its friendly appearance.

Roman holidays in antiquity

The Lupercalia celebration was very loved in ancient Rome. In February, in the middle the fertility and cleansing ceremony was held. During this rite it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. The animal’s blood was dumped into the hearth. It was believed to be beneficial for fertility and protection of the grain fields.

Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented back to the year 202 BC.

Neptunalia was one of the other well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to celebrate Mars as the god of war.

Roman workweeks had eight days. There were two periods to every day: the morning and afternoon. Nundin was an eight-day collection, the rest of the year being made up of 29 days.
