February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love and passion that is observed each year on February 14. The celebration’s roots can be traced back to the Middle Ages when courtly love and sacraments became commonplace.
It was a celebration of romance between romantic partners and lovers in the fourteenth century. It was customary to send Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and other gifts to one another.
The first decade of the 19th century saw the advent commercial cards. The demand for postcards printed in bulk was also growing. They were utilized to make themed displays for shops.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your loved one a sweet or chocolate present , along with a card or flower. You can also gift jewelry.

Groundhog Day is observed annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada however, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The celebration originated from a belief system among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The custom of making weather predictions was introduced to the United States with German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes meteorological predictions all through winter.
When scientists discovered that mice hibernate in winter, they set the basis for this practice. The idea was to forecast the weather for the six remaining weeks by watching how animals react to it.
Groundhogs form part of the Sciuridae tribe of small, hairy mammals. They are winter animals and their main function is to stay in hibernation. Groundhog Day is a common day when they can be observed peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is recognized as a national holiday. It is a celebration of the past presidents of America. Presidents’ Day has traditionally been a day to honor both Washington and Lincoln.
Even though it is an annual holiday of the United States, many states don’t observe it. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of the presidents on the same day . Other states might only celebrate one. Presidents Day has become an occasion to celebrate the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
There is a long and complicated story of Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was originally the name of the event. It is now Presidents’ Day.
A well-known unofficial holiday was the birthday of Washington, which is often known as Washington’s Day. It was declared a federal holiday by Congress in the latter 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was approved by Congress.
Storms of Meteors
Every year it is the time when the Earth crosses its circle around the sun which causes a torrent of small meteors to fall into space. They appear virtually everywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more impressive than others. It is ideal to see the showers at night.
Perseids are among the most beautiful and powerful meteor shower of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. It is visible from the Northern Hemisphere. But, because the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most spectacular fireballs, it makes sense to be able to observe the phenomenon from that region.
Each year there are four major meteor showers. Number one is the Quadrantid. Its brief but strong peak is the one that is most famous. The Lyrid, another, is famous for its unique surges. In addition the Geminid is famous for its approachable appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was a Roman holiday that was loved by many. A fertility and cleansing ceremony was performed in February. In the course of the ceremony, priests offered animal sacrifices on an altar near the Lapis Niiger. The hearth was emptied of blood from the animal. It was believed to be beneficial to the fertility of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were only a few of the most well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were originally celebrated to honor Mars, the godof war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Every day was divided into two parts: morning or afternoon. The nundin was eight days long, while the remaining 29 days were called the rest of the days.
