February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day that is devoted to love and romance which is celebrated every the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day was first observed. This is a period when courtly love and the sacraments still were commonplace.
It was thought to be an occasion to celebrate friendship between romantically engaged people from the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was the day to send one another flowers, gifts, and even cards.
In the 19th century’s early years, commercial card were made easily available. Also, the demand for the printing of postcards in bulk. These cards were used to create themed displays in shops.
Giving your loved one an item of chocolate or candy and a card or flower is a typical Valentine’s Day tradition. You might also consider giving them jewelry.

Storms of Meteors

Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a Roman holiday that was loved by many. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. In this ceremony it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was emptied with the blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial to the fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the goddess of harvest). Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few examples of the well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally held to honor Mars god of war.Vestalia, according to some experts is the most popular of the three.
The Roman week was eight days long. Each day had two parts: the morning and the afternoon. The nundin was a collection of eight days, and the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
