February 14th

Purchasing your special someone a chocolate or candy present together with an arrangement or card, is a traditional Valentine’s Day tradition. It is also possible to present them with jewellery.
February 2nd.
Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada, but Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The celebration originated out of a belief in superstition that was prevalent among Pennsylvanians who spoke Dutch. The American tradition of making forecasts for weather was introduced to America through German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog makes meteorological predictions for all of the winter.
This custom originated from an observation by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The idea was to forecast the next six weeks by studying how animals respond to the weather.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals with hairy fur. They hibernate throughout winter. Groundhog Day mornings are a great time to spot them peering from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a national holiday. It pays tribute to the previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day is usually a day dedicated to Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is a federal holiday not every state observes this holiday. Certain states honor both presidents, while others are only allowed to recognize one president. Presidents’ Day, however, is now commonly recognized as a chance to celebrate every one of the U.S. presidents, especially Lincoln.
It has had a complicated history. The Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the day’s celebration. Today the Presidents’ Day holiday is the official title.
Washington’s birthday is well-known as an unofficial holidaythat is also known as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s, it became a federal holiday. As a result, Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year, the Earth’s orbit revolves around sun. Small, tiny meteors are released into space. In the sky, they can be seen all over the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. It is at night that is the most ideal time of day to observe.
The Perseids meteor shower is among the most impressive and largest of all meteor showers. It is possible that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. Although it won’t be seen from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs in the Southern Hemisphere, it is worthwhile to observe from that area.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. The first is Quadrantid. Its brief but strong peak is the one that is the most well-known. Another one of the most famous for its bizarre spikes is the Lyrid. Additionally the Geminid is renowned for its sexy appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a Roman festival, which was loved by many. In the middle of February the fertility and cleansing ceremony was celebrated. Priests offered animal sacrifices on an altar close to the Lapis Niger in the ceremony. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. It was believed that it would be beneficial to the grain crops by ensuring fertility and protecting them.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were a few other famous Roman celebrations. They were celebrated originally to honor Mars, a god of war.
The Roman workweek was 8 days long. Every day was divided into two parts: morning or afternoon. A nundin consisted of eight days. The rest of the year was comprised by the remaining days.
