Groundhogs are part the Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals. In the winter months, their principal objective is to go into hibernation. Groundhog Day is a common day on which they are observed peering out of their burrows.

Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday on the third Monday of February. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. In the past, Presidents Day has served as a day of celebration for both Lincoln and Washington.
While it is a federal holiday not all states observe this day. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents at the same time, but some states only recognize one. Presidents Day is now widely celebrated as a time to recognize the achievements of all U.S. presidents, especially Lincoln.
Presidents Day has a complicated history. The Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the day’s celebration. Today, Presidents’ day is the official name.
Washington’s birthday also known as Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. It was made a federal holiday in late 1870s. In the aftermath, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Meteor storms
Every year each year, the Earth is in orbit around the sun, which causes tiny meteors to explode into space. They are visible almost everywhere in the skies. Certain showers are more stunning than others. The best time to see them is in the evening.
Perseids are among the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. It is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, since the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most impressive fireballs, it makes sense to also look at the phenomenon from the Southern Hemisphere.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. The first is Quadrantid. Its short but massive peak is what makes it the most well-known. Another one of the most famous for its bizarre spikes is the Lyrid. A Geminid is well-known for being friendly.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is among the most popular holidays in ancient Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered animal sacrifices at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was then emptied of the animal’s blood. The grain fields were believed to be protected and fertility.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration which was celebrated to honor Ceres the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was one of the other well-known Roman festivities. They were celebrated originally in honor of Mars who was the god of war.
Roman workweeks had eight days. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning, and the afternoon. A nundin was a collection that comprised of 8 days. The remaining 29 days comprised the rest of the calendar year.
