February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day which celebrates love and passion, is observed each year on the 14th of February. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first celebrated. This was the time when courtly love as well as sacraments were still common.
It was a celebration of love between romantic partners in the 14th century. Valentine’s Day is a time to send Valentine’s Day gifts and flowers.
In the early 19th century commercial cards were already created. Postcards that were printed in bulk gained popularity. These themed displays were displayed in retail stores.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved ones an item of candy or chocolate, and an arrangement or card. You might also consider giving them jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. It’s also popular in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
The festival was born out of superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The American custom of making weather forecasts was brought to America through German immigrants. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania is a meteorological forecaster for the rest of the winter.
Scientists have discovered that mice went into hibernation in winter. The aim was to predict the weather patterns for the six remaining weeks by observing how animals respond to it.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. In winter, their primary function is to stay in hibernation. Groundhog Day mornings are a excellent time to observe them peering from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a federal holiday. It’s a tribute to all former American presidents. It has been a day to honour both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it’s a federal holiday however, many states do not observe it. Although some states honor both the presidents’ birthdays on the same day however, some states only recognize one. Although Presidents’ day is now a common thing however, it is a good opportunity to honor the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
It has had a complex story. Washington’s Birthday is the original title of the celebration.
Washington’s Birthday, also known as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. It was officially recognized as a federal holiday in the late 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Storms of meteors
Each year, the Earth crosses its orbit around the sun, which causes an explosion of tiny meteors to be released into space. They appear virtually everywhere in the skies. Some showers are more impressive than others. It is generally recommended to watch the showers at night.
Perseids is among the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of 2018. It is possible that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. While it is not visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth watching from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. One of the most famous meteor showers is called the Quadrantid. It is known for its brief but extremely powerful peak. Another is the Lyrid. It’s known for the odd surges it produces. The Geminid is also famous for its warm appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia festival was extremely loved in ancient Rome. In the middle of February, a fertility and cleansing ceremony was celebrated. Priests offered sacrifices to animals at an altar near the Lapis Niger in the ceremony. The hearth was saturated with the animal’s blood. The belief was that this would be beneficial to the crop by increasing fertility and securing the crops from damage.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations can be traced back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were initially held to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks had eight days. There were two parts to every day: morning and afternoon. The nundin was a collection of eight days, and the remaining 29 days comprised the rest of the year.
