February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love and love that is observed each the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first observed. This was the time when courtly love and ceremonies were still popular.
It was a celebration of love between romantic partners in the 14th century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send flowers, cards and other gifts to one another.
Commercial cards were introduced in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. Also, postcards that were printed in large quantities gained popularity. These cards were popularized in retail stores as displays with themes.
Valentine’s Day is an old tradition. You can buy your beloved an edible chocolate or candy gift as well as an arrangement of flowers or an e-card. It is also possible to give them a gift of jewellery.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It’s also a very popular holiday in Canada However, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The tradition was born out of beliefs that were derived from Pennsylvanians and Dutch people. The American tradition of making weather forecasts was brought to America with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the remainder of winter.
When researchers discovered that mice hibernated in winter, they established the foundation for this custom. It was designed to predict the six weeks ahead by studying the way animals react to the weather.
Groundhogs are part of Sciuridae which is a small group of hairy mammals. They are winter animals and their primary function is to hibernate. Groundhog Day is a common day on which they are observed peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a national holiday. The holiday honors the previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day is traditionally a day to honor Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a national holiday which not all states observe despite being one. Certain states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, but some states only recognize only one president. But, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a day to honor all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
The origins of the Presidents’ Day holiday is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday. Today, it is Presidents’ Day.
An unofficial holiday that is well-known was the birthday of Washington, which is often referred to as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s, it was made a federal holiday. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year it is observed that the Earth is orbiting around the sun. This triggers a rush of tiny meteors to be released into space. They can appear anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more spectacular then others. The best time to see them is at night.
Perseids are among the most powerful and beautiful meteor shower of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. Although it will be seen from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth observing from there.
Every year there are four major meteor showers. One of them is Quadrantid. Its short , but massive peak is what makes it most famous. Another one is the Lyrid. It’s famous for its irregular surges. The Geminid is famous for its casual appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia celebration was very loved in ancient Rome. In the middle of February, a fertility and cleansing ceremony was celebrated. Priests offered animal sacrifices close to the altar of Lapis Negiger during this ritual. The hearth was saturated with the blood of the animal. It was believed that it would benefit the grains by ensuring their fertility and protecting the plants from harm.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was held in honor Ceres the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented as far back as the year 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were three other well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were initially intended to honor Mars the god of War.
Roman workweeks lasted eight days. There were two periods of each day: the morning and afternoon. The nundin was a collection of eight days. the remaining 29 days comprised the rest of the year.
