Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It’s also a popular holiday in Canada but it is American Thanksgiving.
The tradition was born out of superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. German immigrants brought the practice of making weather predictions to the United States. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes forecasts for winter weather throughout the year.
After scientists found out that mice hibernated in winter, they laid the basis for this practice. It was designed to predict the coming six weeks by studying the way animals react to weather conditions.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. During the winter, its principal goal is to hibernate. Groundhog Day mornings are a great time to spot they are peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday of February the President’s Daylight is declared a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally been a day to pay tribute to both Washington and Lincoln.
It’s a national holiday that is not observed by all states even though it is one. Certain states observe both birthdays of presidents on the exact same day . Other states might only celebrate only one. The Presidents Day holiday is an opportunity to remember all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The story of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the first reason for the name of this celebration.
Washington’s Birthday, commonly known as Washington’s Day, is an not a holiday recognized by the government but is widely known. In the latter half of 1870s it became a federal holiday. In the end, Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Storms of meteors
Every year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They are visible from all directions. Some showers are more stunning than others. The best time to see them is in the evening.

Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was performed in February. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was emptied with the blood of the animal. It was believed that the hearth could provide fertility and protection for the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few examples of the most well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally held in honor of Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain experts, was the most well-liked of the three.
Roman workweeks lasted eight days. There were two periods to each day: morning and afternoon. Nundin was a collection of eight days. The remaining 29 days made up the rest of the year.
