February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day which celebrates love and passion, is observed each year on the 14th of February. The celebration’s roots can be traced back to the Middle Ages when courtly love and sacraments were well-known.
It was a day to celebrate love between romantic partners in the 14th century. It was common to give Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and gifts to one another.
In the 19th century’s early years commercial cards became easily available. Popularity also grew for bulk-printed postcards. These cards were then displayed in shops as themed displays.
Gifting your special someone an item of chocolate or candy, along with an arrangement or card, is a traditional Valentine’s Day tradition. You could also choose to gift them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It’s also a popular holiday in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
The celebration originated from a superstition that originated among Pennsylvanians who were Dutch. However, the practice of making weather predictions originated in the United States with German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes meteorological predictions all through winter.
The idea for this custom was born out of a discovery by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The plan was to forecast the coming six weeks of the season based on observations of the way that animals reacted.
The Sciuridae family of small hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. They are winter animals and their primary purpose is to hibernate. On Groundhog Day is when they can be visible peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday in February, is regarded as to be a national holiday. The holiday honors past American presidents. It is a day that is dedicated to both Lincoln, Washington, and has been Presidents’ Day since its inception.
While it’s a federal holiday several states do not observe it. Some states recognize the presidents of both countries, while other states are limited to only one. However, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a way to recognize the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled history. Washington’s Birthday was the name used for the celebration. Today, it’s known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday also known as Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. It was recognized as an official holiday of the United States Congress in the latter 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year, the Earth orbits around the sun. This triggers a rush of small meteors that are released into space. They can be seen all over the sky. Certain showers are more spectacular than others. It is at night that is the most ideal time of day to observe.
Perseids are the most powerful and beautiful meteor shower of the year. This is because Comet 109P/SwiftTuttle is the culprit. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, since the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most impressive fireworks, it is only natural to observe the phenomenon from there.
Each year there are four meteor showers that are significant. The Quadrantid Number one is known for its brief but intense maximum. Another one is the Lyrid which is famous for its unique surges. The Geminid is also famous for its warm appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was a popular holiday in ancient Rome. In the middle of February, a fertility and cleansing ceremony was conducted. Priests offered sacrifices of animals near the altar of the Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for fertility and protection of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was dedicated to Ceres. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally held to honor Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain experts is the most popular of the three.
Roman workweeks were 8 days long. There were two parts of every day: morning and afternoon. Nundin was an eight-day collection, the rest of the year comprised of 29 days.
