February 14th
Valentine’s Day is an annual celebration of love and passion , and is observed on February 14th. It is believed to date back as far as the Middle Ages, when love was more common than sacramental and courtly.
It was considered to be the celebration of friendship between romantically engaged acquaintances from the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was a day that was a time for lovers and friends to give gifts, flowers and cards.
The first decade of the 19th century saw the introduction commercial cards. The popularity of these cards grew due to the increasing demand of postcards printed in bulk. These cards were used to design themed displays in stores.
Gifting your special someone an item of chocolate or candy together with an arrangement or card is a classic Valentine’s Day tradition. It is also possible to gift them jewelry.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It is also celebrated in Canada however it’s American Thanksgiving.
The celebration originated out of a belief in superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians speaking Dutch. German immigrants brought the tradition of forecasting weather into the United States. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania, makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The idea for this custom originated from the discovery of scientists by discovering that mouse hibernates in winter. The plan was to forecast the next six weeks of winter by watching how animals responded to weather.
The Sciuridae family of small hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. They hibernate during winter. On Groundhog Day, they are often observed peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday in February the President’s Daylight is recognized as an American holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. In the past, Presidents Day has served as a day of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a national holiday that not all states observe, despite it being one. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas others only recognize one president. However, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a means of honoring the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
Presidents Day has a complicated history. Washington’s Birthday used to be the first name given to the day of celebration. It is now known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday is well-known as an not officially recognized holiday, as well as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s however, it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. This led to Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Storms of Meteors

Perseids are the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. This is because the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. The Quadrantid is the first, and is renowned for its brief but powerful maximum. The Lyrid also is famous for its unique surges. Additionally, the Geminid is famous for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a popular festival in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was performed in February. Priests offered animal sacrifices close to the altar of Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The animal’s blood was dumped into the hearth. It was believed to be beneficial for the fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to celebrate Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were two other well-known Roman festivals. These celebrations were originally meant to pay tribute to Mars the god of War.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two periods of each day: morning and afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long. The 29 remaining days were the rest.
