After scientists found out that mice hibernated in winter, they established the stage for this habit. The original plan was to predict six weeks of the seasons by observing how animals reacted to the conditions.
Groundhogs are part the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. It hibernates in winter. Groundhog Day mornings are a great time to spot the animals peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is considered a national holiday. It honors past American presidents. It is a day to honour both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a federal holiday which not all states observe even though it is one. Certain states honor both presidents at the same time, while some only honor one president. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely regarded as a day to honor the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
It has had a complex background. The Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the day’s celebration. Today Presidents’ Day is the official title.
Washington’s birthday also known by the name Washington’s Day was a well-known not-official holiday. In the 1870s however it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. Congress approved the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Storms of Meteors
Each year it is observed that the Earth orbits around the sun. This results in a flood of small meteors that are released into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time of day to observe.

Roman holidays that date back to antiquity
The Lupercalia holiday was very loved in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was held in February. Priests offered sacrifices to animals at an altar next to the Lapis Niger during the rite. The blood of the animal was poured in the hearth. It was believed to be beneficial for the fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held in honour of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Since 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented.
Other popular Roman celebrations include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were initially held to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Every day was divided into two parts: the morning or afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long. The 29 days remaining were the remainder.
