Scientists discovered that a mouse was able to hibernate during winter. The goal was to predict the next six weeks of the season using observations about how the animals responded.
The Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals includes groundhogs. In winter, their primary purpose is to hibernate. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday in February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is considered a national holiday. It pays tribute to past American presidents. It is a day to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it’s an official holiday, not every state observes this holiday. Certain states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, but some states only recognize only one president. The Presidents Day is now an opportunity to remember the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
