February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day that is devoted to love and romance that is observed every year on February 14. The Middle Ages were a time where love was a common occurrence and ceremonies were more widespread.
It was seen as an occasion to celebrate romance between romantic partners and friends during the 14th century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send cards, flowers and other gifts to each other.
In the early 19th century commercial cards were already made. Additionally, postcards printed in large quantities gained popularity. These cards were a hit in stores as displays of themed designs.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one a gift of chocolate or candy, and flowers or a card. You might also decide to gift them with jewelry.

Groundhog Day, which is celebrated every February 2 and is an annual holiday. Groundhog Day is observed every year in Canada on February 2.
The idea for this celebration came from a superstition that originated among Pennsylvanians who were Dutch. German immigrants brought the tradition of forecasting weather into the United States. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog, makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The tradition was born when scientists discovered a mouse that hibernated in winter. The initial plan was to predict six weeks of the seasons by watching how animals responded to conditions.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae, a small family of mammals with hairy fur. It is hibernates in the winter months. In the early morning hours of Groundhog Day, they are often seen looking out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as an American holiday that falls on the third Monday of February. It honors previous American presidents. It is a day that honors both Lincoln, Washington, and it has been Presidents Day since the beginning of its existence.
While it’s a federal holiday but not every state observes it. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, but other states only recognize only one president. Presidents Day has become an occasion to celebrate the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
There’s a rich history of Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the initial name of the celebration. Today Presidents’ Day is the official title.
Washington’s Birthday, commonly known as Washington’s Day, is an not a holiday recognized by the government but is widely known. However, it was recognized as a as a federal holiday in the 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Storms of Meteors
Each year it is observed that the Earth revolves around the sun. This triggers a rush of tiny meteors to be released into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the skies. Some showers are more impressive then others. It is usually the nighttime time for watching.
The Perseids meteor shower is one of the most spectacular and largest of all the meteor showers. It is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was responsible. Although it is visible in the Northern Hemisphere because of its high rate of fireworks However, the Southern Hemisphere also has the most visibility.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky each year. Number one is the Quadrantid. Its short but strong peak is the one that is the most well-known. Another famous for its strange surges is the Lyrid. A Geminid is well-known for being friendly.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman holiday that was loved by many. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered animal sacrifices close to the altar of the Lapis Negiger during this ritual. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. The fertility and protection of the blood is believed to be beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held to honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the most well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were initially planned to honor Mars as the god of war.
Roman workweeks were 8 days long. There were two portions to each day: morning and the afternoon. A nundin was eight days long, and the 29 days remaining were the remainder.
