February 14th
Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion on the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first celebrated. It was a period when courtly love and sacraments were still common.
It was seen as an occasion to celebrate the love between romantic partners as well as friends in the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was the day to exchange gifts, flowers, and even cards.
Commercial cards were introduced by the early nineteenth century. The popularity of postcards that were printed in bulk was also increasing. They were put up in stores as displays with themes.
Giving your loved one an item of chocolate or candy, along with flowers or a card is a classic Valentine’s Day tradition. You might also consider giving them jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It’s also popular in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
The tradition originated from a belief system in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. However, the custom of forecasting weather was introduced to the United States with German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that provides meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The idea for this custom was born from a discovery by scientists that mouse hibernates during winter. The idea was to forecast the next six weeks by studying how animals respond to weather conditions.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae which is a tiny family of hairy mammals. It hibernates during winter. Groundhog Day is a common day when they can be seen peering out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday of February, is regarded as an official holiday of the United States. It is a day to pay tribute to past American presidents. The Presidents Day holiday has been a time of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.
While it is a federal holiday However, many states don’t observe it. Some states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents at the same time, while some states only recognize only one president. While Presidents’ Day is now standard however, it is a good opportunity to remember all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
The story of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was the first name given to the day of celebration. Now, it is known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday also called Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. In the latter half of 1870s it became a federal holiday. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Storms of Meteors
Every year, Earth moves around the sun. Every year, small meteors are released into space. They can appear in all directions. Certain showers are more impressive than others. Nighttime is the best time of day to observe.
The Perseids meteor shower is one of the most stunning and largest of all meteor showers. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle created it. While it will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere because of its large number of fireballs however, the Southern Hemisphere also has the highest visibility.
Each year there are four important meteor showers. One of them is Quadrantid. Its short , but massive peak is what makes it most famous. Another one of the most famous for its bizarre spikes is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also known for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a major celebration in the ancient city of Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony were held in the middle February. Priests offered animal sacrifices at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. It was believed that the hearth would offer fertile soil and protect the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was dedicated to Ceres. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was among the most well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to pay tribute to Mars, the god war.
Roman workweeks had eight days. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning, and the afternoon. A nundin consisted of 8 days. The rest of the year was constituted by the remaining 29 days.
