February 14th
Valentine’s Day is an annual celebration of love and passion and is observed on February 14. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and sacraments were more common.
It was the day to celebrate love between romantic friends and lovers in the fourteenth century. It was common to give Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and gifts to one another.
In the first decade of the nineteenth century commercial cards were readily available. The popularity of postcards printed in bulk was also increasing. These cards were a hit in shops as displays of themed designs.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved ones an item of candy or chocolate as well as a card or flower. It is also possible to gift them jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. While it is also a popular holiday in Canada The Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday in the United States.
The celebration originated out of a belief in superstition among Pennsylvanians who spoke Dutch. The American tradition of making weather forecasts was brought to America through German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the rest of winter.
When researchers discovered that mice hibernate during winter, they laid the foundation for this custom. The plan was to forecast the next six weeks of the season using observations about the way that animals reacted.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals. It is hibernates in the winter. Groundhog Day mornings are a great time to spot the animals peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a national holiday. It’s a tribute to all former American presidents. It is a day which is dedicated to both Lincoln, Washington, and has been Presidents’ Day since its inception.
While it is an official holiday, not all states observe this day. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas others only recognize one president. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely recognized as a time to celebrate the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The history of the Presidents’ Day holiday is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the original name of the event. It is now Presidents Day.
Washington’s Birthday, commonly known as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. It became an official holiday of the United States in the late 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was passed by Congress.
Storms of meteors
Every year each year, the Earth orbits in the solar system. This causes a flood of tiny meteors which are released into space. They can appear everywhere. Certain showers are more spectacular than others. The best time to see them is at night.
Perseids are one of the most impressive and spectacular meteor showers in the entire year. This is due to the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. While it is not visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the huge fireballs observed within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worthwhile to observe from that area.
There are four major meteor showers every year. Number one is the Quadrantid. Its short but massive peak is what makes it the most well-known. The Lyrid, another, is known for its distinctive surges. The Geminid is also well-known for its warm appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia holiday was very popular in ancient Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony took place in the middle of February. The priests offered sacrifices of animals to an altar in front of the Lapis Niiger. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial for fertility of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in the year 202 BC.
Other well-known Roman festivities include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These celebrations were originally meant to celebrate Mars the god of War.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning, and afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long, and the remaining 29 days were called the rest.
