Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. Although it is a popular holiday in Canada, Thanksgiving is a American holiday.
The celebration originated from superstition from Pennsylvanians as well as Dutch people. The American tradition of making forecasts for weather was introduced to America by German immigration. The tradition was born after scientists discovered an animal that was hibernating during winter. It was designed to predict the next six weeks by studying the way animals react to weather conditions.
The Sciuridae family of small hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. In winter, their primary objective is to go into hibernation. Groundhog Day is a common day when they can be seen peering out from their burrows.

The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is recognized as a national holiday. It honors previous American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally been a day to honor both Washington and Lincoln.
While it’s an official holiday, some states do not observe it. Some states celebrate both presidents simultaneously, whereas others only recognize one. Presidents Day has become an opportunity to remember the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled past. Washington’s Birthday is the original name for this holiday.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. In the 1870s however it was declared a federally recognized holiday. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was approved by Congress.
Meteor storms
Each year, the Earth orbits around the sun. This triggers a rush of tiny meteors to be released into space. They are visible in all directions. Some showers are more stunning than others. The best time to view them is at night.
Perseids is among the most beautiful and impressive meteor showers of the year 2018. This is due to Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, considering that the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most spectacular fireballs, it makes sense to also observe the phenomenon from there.
There are four major meteor showers every year. The Quadrantid Number one is famous for its short but powerful maximum. Another famous for its strange surges is the Lyrid. In addition, the Geminid is famous for its attractive appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia was a well-known celebration in the ancient city of Rome. In February, in the middle the fertility and cleansing ceremony was celebrated. The grain fields were believed to benefit from its protection and fertility.

Neptunalia and Saturnalia were among the other popular Roman festivals. These were originally held to honour Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain experts, was the most well-liked among the three.
