Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a holiday that is celebrated across the nation. It is a day to honor previous American presidents. The Presidents’ Day was typically a day of celebration to honor Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is a federal holiday , not all states observe this day. While some states celebrate both the presidents’ birthdays on the same day as others, other states only recognize only one. The Presidents Day holiday is a day to honor all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The background of Presidents’ Day is complex. Washington’s Birthday was the first name given to the holiday. It is now also known as Presidents Day.

Priests offered animal sacrifices near the altar of Lapis Negiger during this ritual. The blood of the animal was poured in the hearth. It was believed that it would benefit the crop by increasing fertility and protecting the crops from damage.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to celebrate Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was among the other popular Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally planned to pay tribute to Mars, the god war.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two periods of every day: the morning and the afternoon. A nundin consisted of 8 days. The rest of the year was comprised by the remaining 29 days.
