February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a day to celebrate love and affection. It is observed every year. The origins of the holiday can be traced to the Middle Ages, a time when sacraments and courtly love were all the rage.
It was the day to celebrate romance between romantic partners and lovers during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was the day to exchange flowers, gifts, and even cards.
The first decade of the 19th century saw the introduction of commercial cards. Also, the demand for the printing of postcards in bulk. These cards were used to create themed displays in stores.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your special someone a candy or chocolate present along with a flower or card. It is also possible to give them jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. It is also celebrated in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
The celebration was born out of superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. However, Americans gained the tradition of making predictions about weather through German immigrants. It all started when scientists found an animal that was hibernating during the winter. The initial plan was to forecast six weeks of the seasons by watching how animals reacted to the climate.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals. In winter, their main function is to go into hibernation. Groundhog Day mornings are a great time to spot them peering from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday observed on the third Monday in February. It pays tribute the past American presidents. Presidents’ Day has historically been a day to celebrate both Washington and Lincoln.
Even though it is an official holiday, some states do not observe it. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, whereas other states only recognize one. While Presidents’ Day is now standard this holiday allows us to commemorate all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
It has had a complicated story. Washington’s Birthday was the original name for the holiday. Now, it is called Presidents Day.
The most well-known holiday in the United States was Washington’s birthday, often known as Washington’s Day. It was made a federal holiday in late 1870s. Congress approved the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Each year, Earth’s orbit revolves around sun. A torrent of small meteors are released into space. They appear in any part of the sky. Some showers are more spectacular than others. It is at night that is the most ideal time to watch.
Perseids is one of most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of 2018. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle caused it. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, since the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most stunning fireballs, it is logical to also observe the phenomenon from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. One of the most famous meteor showers is the Quadrantid. This one is famous for its small but extremely strong peak. Another is the Lyrid which is famous for its unusual surges. A Geminid is well-known for being friendly.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman holiday that was loved by many. The cleansing and fertility ceremony took place in February, in the middle. Priests offered animal sacrifices at an altar near the Lapis Niger during the rite. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. The belief was that this would benefit the crop by increasing fertility and securing them.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented as far back as the year 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were three other well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally held in honor of Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain experts was the most popular of the three.
The Roman workweek was eight days long. There were two phases of each day, the morning as well as the evening. The nundin was eight days long. The 29 days remaining were the rest.
