Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae, a small family of hairy mammals. They hibernate throughout winter. On Groundhog Day, they are often visible peeking out of burrows.

Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday on the third Monday of February. It celebrates the past American presidents. It is a day which is dedicated to the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and has been Presidents’ Day since its inception.
While it’s an official holiday of the United States but not every state observes it. Although some states honor both presidents birthdays on the exact same day however, some states only recognize only one. Presidents’ Day, however, is now commonly considered to be a day to honor the achievements of all U.S. presidents, especially Lincoln.
The story of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the name used for the holiday. It is now also known as Presidents Day.

Roman holidays that date back to antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most popular holidays of the past of Rome. In the middle of February there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was held. Priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar to the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. The belief was that it would be beneficial for the fertility and protection of the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration which was celebrated to honor Ceres the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the well-known Roman celebrations. They were celebrated originally in honor of Mars the god of war.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. Every day was divided into two parts: the morning or afternoon. A nundin was eight days long, while the remaining 29 days were called the remainder.
