February 14th
Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that celebrates love, passion and is observed on February 14th. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day was first celebrated. This is a period when courtly love and ceremonies were still popular.
It was a day to celebrate love between romantic partners during the 14th century. In the 14th century, on Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send flowers, cards, and gifts to one another.
By the beginning of the 19th century commercial cards were already made. Popularity grew with the popularity of printing postcards in large quantities. These cards were used to create themed displays in shops.
Gifting your special someone an item of chocolate or candy together with flowers or a card, is a traditional Valentine’s Day tradition. You might also consider giving them jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. Although it is also well-liked in Canada the Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday celebrated in America.
A belief system among Pennsylvanians Dutch people led to the celebration. The Americans, however, inherited the custom of predicting weather forecasts through German immigrants. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who gives forecasts for the rest of winter.
The tradition was born out of a discovery by scientists that mouse hibernates in winter. The goal was to forecast the weather patterns for the six remaining weeks by studying how animals react to it.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae group of tiny hairy mammals. It is hibernates through the winter months. Groundhog Day mornings are a excellent time to observe they are peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday of Februar, is considered a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. It is a day which honors both Lincoln, Washington, and it has been Presidents’ Day since its inception.
Although it’s a federal holiday, many states do not observe it. Certain states observe both birthdays of the presidents on the day, while some states only honor only one. Although Presidents’ day is now standard however, it is a good opportunity to remember the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
The origins of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was the first name given to the holiday. Today, it’s known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. However, in the 1870s, it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. Congress passed the Uniform Monday Day Holiday Act.
Storms of Meteors
Each year it is observed that the Earth revolves around the sun. This triggers a rush of tiny meteors to be released into space. They can appear in all directions. Certain showers are more stunning than others. The best time for viewing them is at night.
Perseids is among the most stunning and spectacular meteor showers of 2018. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible for. Although it will be seen from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs in the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth watching from there.
There are four major meteor Showers each year. One of the most well-known meteor showers is called the Quadrantid. This one is known for its short but extremely powerful peak. A different one that stands out for its distinctive surges is The Lyrid. The Geminid is renowned for its casual appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most well-liked holidays in the past of Rome. In February, a fertility-cleansing ceremony was held. During this rite it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on an altar beside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were three other famous Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to celebrate Mars as the god of war.
The Roman workweek was 8 days long. There were two periods to every day: the morning and the afternoon. A nundin consisted of eight days. The remainder of the year was constituted by the remaining 29 days.
