February 14th

Storms of Meteors
Every year, Earth moves around the sun. Each year, small meteors fall into space. They are visible in the sky and can be seen all over the sky. Some showers are more stunning than others. It is recommended to watch the showers in the evening.
Perseids is among the most beautiful and impressive meteor showers of 2018. This is due to the fact that the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the primary cause. It will be seen from the Northern Hemisphere, but as the Southern Hemisphere has some of the most intense fireballs, it is also worthwhile to see from that region.
Four major meteor showers take place each year. The Quadrantid Number one is famous for its short but intense maximum. Another one is the Lyrid. It’s famous for its irregular surges. The Geminid is also known for its likable appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman holiday that was loved by many. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered sacrifices to animals at an altar near the Lapis Niger during the rite. The animal’s blood was dumped into the hearth. The belief was that this would benefit grain crops by ensuring fertility and securing them.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were among the other popular Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally meant to pay tribute to Mars the god of War.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. There were two sections to every day, the morning part and the afternoon. A nundin was an eight-day collection, the rest of the year being made up of 29 days.
