February 14th
Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion every February 14. It dates to the Middle Ages, when love was more prevalent than courtly and sacramental.
It was considered a celebration that celebrated the love between romantic partners as well as close friends during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was the day to give each other gifts, flowers and even cards.
In the beginning of the 19th century, commercial card were made readily available. Also, postcards that were produced in large quantities gained a lot of popularity. These cards were used to create themed displays in stores.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one the gift of candy or chocolate along with an arrangement or card. It is also possible to give them jewelry.

Groundhog Day, which is observed on February 2 every year, is an annual event. Even though it is popular in Canada the Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday.
The idea for this celebration came from a superstition that originated among Pennsylvanians who were Dutch. German immigrants brought the tradition of forecasting weather into the United States. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania, makes meteorological predictions for the rest of the winter.
This custom was born out of the discovery of scientists by discovering that mice hibernate during winter. The idea was to forecast the coming six weeks by studying how animals respond to weather conditions.
Groundhogs belong to of the Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals. They hibernate throughout the winter months. On the morning of Groundhog Day, they are frequently spotted peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is considered a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. It has been a day to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it’s a federal holiday , not every state observes this holiday. Certain states celebrate the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, whereas other states only recognize only one president. However, Presidents’ Day is now widely recognized as a means of honoring the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
There is a long and complicated story that explains Presidents Day. The Washington’s Birthday was the initial title of the holiday that is now referred to as Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. In the 1870s however it was declared a federally recognized holiday. As a result, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year each year, the Earth is orbiting around the sun. This results in a flood of tiny meteors which are released into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more striking than others. The best time for viewing them is at night.
Perseids are among the most powerful and beautiful meteor showers of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, considering that the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most stunning fireballs, it is logical to also observe the phenomenon from there.
Four meteor showers of significance occur every year. The Quadrantid is the most prominent due to its strong but brief maximum. Another is the Lyrid that is renowned for its unusual surges. The Geminid is also famous for its likable appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most celebrated holidays in the ancient city of Rome. A ritual of cleansing and fertility was held in February. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The animal’s blood was dumped in the hearth. The protection and fertility of blood is believed to have been beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to honor Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Since 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations were recorded.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few examples of the well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were initially planned to celebrate Mars and the god of war.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. There were two phases of every day: the morning and the afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days, and the other 29 days comprised the remainder of the year.
