February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a holiday to celebrate love and affection. It is celebrated every year. It dates to as early as the Middle Ages, when love was more prevalent than sacramental or courtly love.
It was the day to celebrate romance between romantic friends and lovers during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was the day to send one another gifts, flowers and cards.
Commercial cards were introduced in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. Postcards printed in bulk gained popularity. These cards were a hit in stores as themed displays.
Valentine’s Day is an old tradition. You can purchase your loved ones a chocolate gift or candy gift and also an arrangement of flowers or an e-card. You could also choose to give them a gift of jewelry.

Groundhog Day, which is observed every February 2, is an annual celebration. It is also celebrated in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
The celebration originated from beliefs that were derived from Pennsylvanians and Dutch people. The American tradition of creating weather forecasts came to America by German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania is a meteorological forecaster for the rest of the winter.
The custom got its start after scientists discovered a mouse that hibernated in the winter. The idea was to predict the next six weeks of the season based on observations of the way that animals reacted.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals. It hibernates during winter. The morning of Groundhog Day, they are often visible peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday in February, President’s Daylight is recognized as an American holiday. It is a way to honor the previous presidents of America. The Presidents’ Day holiday was typically a day of celebration to honor Lincoln and Washington.
While it’s a federal holiday some states do not observe it. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of the presidents on the exact same day . Other states might only celebrate one. Although Presidents’ day is now common, it allows us to honor the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
There’s a rich history behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first reason for the title of the celebration.
Washington’s birthday, also known by the name Washington’s Day was a well-known not-official holiday. In the late 1870s, it became a federal holiday. In the aftermath, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Meteor storms
Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. Small, tiny meteors explodes into space. They can be seen everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time to view them is in the evening.
The Perseids meteor shower is among the most spectacular and most massive of meteor showers. This is because Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle is to blame. It will be visible from the Northern Hemisphere, but as the Southern Hemisphere has some of the most intense fireballs It is also worthwhile to look up from there.
There are four major meteor Showers every year. The Quadrantid Number one is famous for its short but intense maximum. The other is the Lyrid, which is known for its unique surges. The Geminid is also famous for its friendly appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in the past of Rome. In the middle of February there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was conducted. During this rite it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for fertility and protection of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was one of the most well-known Roman festivities. These celebrations were originally intended to celebrate Mars as the god of war.
Roman workweeks took eight days. Every day consisted of two parts: the morning and the afternoon. Nundin was an eight-day collection, with the remainder of the year made up of 29 days.
