While it’s a federal holiday some states do not observe it. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of the presidents on the exact same day . Other states might only celebrate one. Although Presidents’ day is now common, it allows us to honor the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.

There’s a rich history behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first reason for the title of the celebration.

Washington’s birthday, also known by the name Washington’s Day was a well-known not-official holiday. In the late 1870s, it became a federal holiday. In the aftermath, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.

Meteor storms

Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. Small, tiny meteors explodes into space. They can be seen everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time to view them is in the evening.

Roman holidays from antiquity

The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in the past of Rome. In the middle of February there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was conducted. During this rite it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on the altar next to the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was cleansed with the blood of the animal. Neptunalia was one of the most well-known Roman festivities. These celebrations were originally intended to celebrate Mars as the god of war.
