Scientists discovered that a mouse went into hibernation during winter. The idea was to forecast the weather conditions for the remaining six weeks, by watching how animals react to it.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae group of small hairy mammals. It is hibernates in the winter. Groundhog Day is a common time when they can be looking out from their burrows.

The third Monday of February is the Presidents’ Daylight. It is considered a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. The Presidents’ Day holiday was usually a day dedicated to Lincoln as well as Washington.
It’s a federal holiday which not all states observe, despite it being one. Some states honor both birthdays of presidents on the exact same day while other states may only recognize one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is now widely recognized as a way to recognize the achievements of all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
The history of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the first title of the holiday. The day is now known as Presidents Day.

Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia was one of the most loved holidays in ancient Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. Priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar to the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. It was believed that it would benefit grain crops by ensuring fertility and protecting the crops from damage.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was dedicated to Ceres. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were three other famous Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally meant to pay tribute to Mars the god of war.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. Each day consisted of two parts: the morning or afternoon. Nundin was a collection that comprised of eight days. The remaining 29 days were the remainder of the year.
