Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It’s also a well-known holiday in Canada However, Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The tradition was born out of the belief in superstition of Pennsylvanians and Dutch people. German immigrants introduced the practice of making weather predictions to the United States. Groundhogs form part of the Sciuridae family of small, hairy mammals. They are winter animals and their primary function is to stay in hibernation. Groundhog Day mornings are a perfect time to see they are peering out of their burrows.

Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday on the third Monday of February. It is a day to pay tribute to to the previous American presidents. It is a day to honour both Lincoln and Washington.
Despite being an official holiday of the United States, not all states observe the holiday in all states. Certain states honor both presidents simultaneously, while some only honor one president. Presidents Day has become an occasion to celebrate all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The origins of the Presidents’ Day holiday is a bit tangled. The Washington’s Birthday was the initial name of the holiday. Today the Presidents’ Day holiday is the official name.
Washington’s birthday is an incredibly well-known and unofficial holidaythat is also known as Washington’s Day. It was officially recognized as a federal holiday in the late 1870s. In the aftermath, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
