The fertility and protection of the blood was believed to be beneficial to the grain field.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Other popular Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These were originally celebrated in honor of Mars, a god of war.
Roman workweeks lasted eight days. Each day had two parts: the morning and afternoon. A nundin was a collection that comprised of eight days. The remaining 29 days comprised the remainder of the calendar year.
