Neptunalia was among the more popular Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to honor Mars, the god war.

Roman workweeks had eight days. Every day consisted of two sections: morning and the afternoon. A nundin was an eight-day collection, the rest of the year comprised of 29 days.
