Presidents Daylight is observed on the third Monday of February, is regarded as an official holiday of the United States. It is a celebration of the presidents who have gone before us. Presidents’ Day has traditionally been a time to pay tribute to both Washington and Lincoln.
Although it’s a federal holiday however, many states do not observe it. Some states recognize both presidents, while other states are limited to only one. But Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as a day to honor the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The history of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday used to be the name used for the holiday. Now, it is called Presidents Day.

Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia holiday was very popular in ancient Rome. A ritual of cleansing and fertility was held in February. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. Blood from the animal was poured into the hearth. The grain fields were thought to be protected and fertility.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the harvest goddess). Ludi Ceriales celebrations can be traced back to the year 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were a few other well-known Roman celebrations. These were originally held in honor of Mars, the god of war.Vestalia According to certain academics was the most popular among the three.
