February 14th
Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that celebrates love, affection and celebration on February 14th. The origins of the holiday can be traced back to the Middle Ages, a time where courtly love and sacraments were widespread.
It was a celebration of romance between lovers during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was a day when it was customary for lovers and friends to exchange gifts, flowers, or cards.
In the beginning of the nineteenth century commercial cards were widely available. Also, the demand for postcards printed in bulk. These cards were popularized in shops as displays of themed designs.
Valentine’s Day is an old tradition. You can purchase your beloved an edible chocolate or candy gift along with a bouquet of flowers or a card. You could also choose to give them a gift of jewelry.

Groundhog Day, which is observed on February 2 every year, is an annual event. Groundhog Day is observed every year in Canada on February 2.
The celebration originated from beliefs that were derived from Pennsylvanians as well as Dutch people. German immigrants brought the practice of weather forecasts to the United States. Punxsutawney Phil is a groundhog native to Pennsylvania, makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The story began when researchers discovered mice that were hibernating throughout the winter. The goal was to predict the following six weeks of season using observations about the way that animals reacted.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae category of hairy mammals. In winter, their primary function is to stay in hibernation. Groundhog Day is a common day when they can be looking out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a holiday that is celebrated across the nation. It is a celebration of the previous presidents of America. It was a time to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
It is a federal holiday that not all states observe even though it is one. Certain states honor both presidents, whereas other states are limited to only one. While Presidents’ Day is now common, it allows us to honor the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
Presidents’ Day has a convoluted history. Washington’s Birthday was the original name of the celebration that is now referred to as Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday is an incredibly well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. However, it was recognized as a as a federal holiday in the 1870s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was approved by Congress.
Meteor showers
Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around the sun. A torrent of small meteors is released into space. They can be observed everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more spectacular than others. Nighttime is typically the best time to watch.
Perseids is one of most stunning and spectacular meteor showers in 2018. This is due to the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. It is visible from the Northern Hemisphere. But, because the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most stunning fireworks, it is only natural to also be able to observe the phenomenon from that region.
Every year there are four important meteor showers. The Quadrantid is the most prominent due to its power but short maximum. A different one that stands out for its distinctive surges is The Lyrid. In addition, the Geminid is famous for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia is among the most well-known holidays of ancient Rome. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was conducted. Priests offered animal sacrifices at an altar next to the Lapis Niger during the ritual. The hearth was saturated with the animal’s blood. The belief was that this would be beneficial to the crop by increasing fertility and protecting the crops from damage.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration which was celebrated to honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations can be traced back to 202 BC.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the famous Roman celebrations. These celebrations were initially held to honor Mars, the godof war.
Roman workweeks were 8 days long. There were two portions to each day: morning and the afternoon. The nundin was comprised of 8 days. The rest of the year was constituted by the remaining 29 days.
