Groundhog Day is observed annually on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
This celebration was born of the belief in superstition of Pennsylvanians and Dutch people. German immigrants brought the tradition of forecasting weather to the United States. Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog from Pennsylvania provides meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The tradition was born when scientists discovered an animal that was hibernating during winter. The initial plan was to predict the duration of the seasons by watching how animals responded to the climate.
The Sciuridae family of small hairy mammals includes groundhogs. It hibernates throughout winter. In the early morning hours of Groundhog Day, they are frequently spotted peering out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is known as Presidents’ Daylight. It is an official holiday for the United States of America. It is a tribute to the previous presidents of America. Presidents’ Day has traditionally served as a day to pay tribute to both Washington and Lincoln.
While it is a federal holiday not every state observes this holiday. While some states recognize both presidents’ birthdays on the same day as others however, some states only recognize only one. But Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as a day to honor all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The story of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was the original name of the celebration, which is now known as Presidents Day.
The most well-known holiday in the United States was the birthday of President Washington, also known as Washington’s Day. It was recognized as a federal holiday by Congress in the late 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year, the Earth’s orbit revolves around the sun. A torrent of small meteors is released into space. They may appear everywhere. Certain showers are more spectacular in comparison to others. The best time to watch.

Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia celebration was very well-known in the ancient city of Rome. In the middle of February, a fertility and cleansing ceremony was conducted. Priests offered animal sacrifices at the altar to the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was then emptied of the blood of the animal. The grain fields were believed to be protected and fertility.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was dedicated to Ceres. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented from 202 BC.
