February 14th
Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that is a celebration of love, affection and celebration on February 14. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and ceremonies were more widespread.
It was a celebration of romance between romantic partners and lovers in the fourteenth century. Valentine’s Day was the day to exchange flowers, gifts and cards.
In the 19th century’s early years commercial cards were made readily available. Postcards printed in bulk also became popular. These cards were popularized in stores as themed displays.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one the gift of candy or chocolate, and flowers or a card. It is also possible to present jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada however, Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The idea for this celebration came from a belief system that was popular in the minds of Pennsylvanians speaking Dutch. The Americans, however, inherited the tradition of making predictions about weather through German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog, makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
Researchers discovered that mice hibernated during winter. The idea was to forecast the six weeks ahead by studying how animals react to weather conditions.
Groundhogs belong to of the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. In winter, their main purpose is to stay in hibernation. On Groundhog Day, they are often observed peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday in February President’s Daylight is declared a national holiday. It is a day to pay tribute to the past American presidents. It is a day to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is an official holiday of the United States but not every state observes the holiday in all states. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas others only recognize only one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely regarded as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
The history of the Presidents’ Day holiday is complex. The Washington’s Birthday was the initial name of the holiday. Today the Presidents’ Day holiday is the official title.
Washington’s Birthday, commonly known as Washington’s Day, is an non-official holiday, but it is well-known. It was made an official holiday of the United States in the late 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year, the Earth passes through its orbit around the sun, causing tiny meteors to explode into space. They are visible all over the sky. Some showers can be more spectacular than others. Nighttime is typically the best moment to observe.
Perseids are among the most stunning and impressive meteor showers of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the primary cause. Although it won’t be visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worth observing from there.
Four significant meteor showers occur each year. The Quadrantid one is well-known for its potent but short peak. Another famous for its strange surges is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also famous for its attractive appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia is among the most celebrated holidays in the past of Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony took place in February, in the middle. In the course of the ceremony, priests offered sacrifices of animals to an altar close to the Lapis Niiger. The hearth was emptied with the blood of the animal. The fertility and protection of the blood is believed to be beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration which was celebrated to honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented as far back as 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were some other well-known Roman festivals. These celebrations were initially held to honor Mars, the godof war.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two parts of each day: morning and afternoon. Nundin was a collection of 8 days. The remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
