An unofficial holiday that is well-known was Washington’s birthday, often known as Washington’s Day. In the late 1870s, it was made a federal holiday. Congress adopted the Uniform Monday holiday Act.

Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the well-known Roman celebrations. They were celebrated originally to honor Mars who was the god of war.

Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two periods of each day: morning and afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long, while the remaining 29 days were called the rest of the days.
