February 14th

The early nineteenth century saw the advent of commercial cards. Postcards printed in bulk also received a lot of attention. They were displayed in themed displays that were put up in stores.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by gifting your loved ones a gift of candy or chocolate along with an arrangement or card. It is also possible to present them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. Although it is a popular holiday in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The tradition was born out of beliefs that were derived from Pennsylvanians as well as Dutch people. The American tradition of creating forecasts for weather was introduced to America by German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who makes meteorological predictions all through winter.
The tradition was born when scientists found a mouse that hibernated during winter. It was designed to predict the next six weeks by studying how animals react to weather conditions.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals with hairy fur. In winter, their main job is to stay in hibernation. Groundhog Day’s morning is when they can be visible peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a federal holiday. It celebrates the previous American presidents. The Presidents’ Day holiday was typically a day of celebration to honor Lincoln as well as Washington.
It’s a federal holiday that is not observed by all states despite being one. Some states honor both birthdays of presidents on the same day . Other states only honor only one. Presidents Day has become a day to honor the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
There is a complicated history behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the day’s celebration. Today Presidents’ Day is the official title.
An unofficial holiday that is well-known was Washington’s birthday, often known as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s, however it was declared an official holiday recognized by the federal government. Congress adopted the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year, Earth moves around the sun. Every year, small meteors are released into space. They can appear everywhere. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time to view them is at night.
Perseids are the most powerful and beautiful meteor shower of the year. It is probable that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible. While it’s visible in the Northern Hemisphere because of its high rate of fireballs, the Southern Hemisphere also has the highest visibility.
There are four major meteor showers every year. The first is Quadrantid. Its short but strong peak is the one that is most famous. Another one is the Lyrid that is renowned for its unique surges. The Geminid is known for its casual appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is one of the most popular holidays in ancient Rome. In February, a fertility cleansing ceremony was performed. At this time it was a time when priests offered sacrifices to animals on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was cleaned of the blood of the animal. It was believed that it would benefit crop by increasing fertility and also protecting the plants from harm.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations were recorded.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were a few other famous Roman celebrations. These were originally celebrated to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two parts to every day: the morning and afternoon. The nundin was comprised of 8 days. The remainder of the year was made up by the remaining days.
