Washington’s birthday, also known by the title Washington’s Day was a well-known non-official holiday. It became an official holiday of the United States in the late 1870s. As a result, Congress approved the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Meteor showers
Each year, the Earth is in circle around the sun which causes tiny meteors to fall into space. In the sky, they can be seen everywhere. Some showers seem more impressive than others. The best time to watch.

Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia holiday was very well-known in the ancient city of Rome. In February, a fertility-cleansing ceremony was performed. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The hearth was cleansed of blood from the animal. The belief was that this would be beneficial to the grain crops by ensuring fertility and securing the plants from harm.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration, was celebrated in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Since the year 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations were recorded.
Vestalia, Saturnalia, and Neptunalia were among the well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to pay tribute to Mars and the god of war.
Roman working weeks were eight days long. Each day was divided into two sections: morning and the afternoon. A nundin was 8 days long, and the 29 remaining days were the rest of the days.
