February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a day to celebrate the love and passion of a person. It is observed every year. It can be traced back as far as the Middle Ages, when love was more common than courtly and sacramental.
It was considered to be a celebration that celebrated love between romantic partners and friends in the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was the day to give each other flowers, gifts and even cards.
In the beginning of the 19th century commercial cards were widely available. Also, postcards that were printed in bulk gained popularity. These cards were a hit in retail stores as themed displays.
Valentine’s Day is an old tradition. You can purchase your loved ones chocolates or a candy gift along with an arrangement of flowers or a card. It is also possible to gift them jewelry.

Groundhog Day occurs annually on February 2. It’s also popular in Canada but it is American Thanksgiving.
A belief system among Pennsylvanians Dutch people gave rise to the festival. However, the practice of making weather predictions originated in the United States with German immigration. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog that provides meteorological predictions all through winter.
The tradition was born when scientists found an animal that was hibernating during winter. It was planned to predict the coming six weeks by studying how animals respond to the weather.
The Sciuridae family of small, hairy mammals includes groundhogs. It hibernates in winter. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday in February, President’s Daylight is recognized as an official holiday of the United States. The holiday honors to the previous American presidents. In the past, Presidents Day been a time of celebration for both Lincoln and Washington.
It’s a federal holiday which not all states observe, despite it being one. Although some states honor both presidents birthdays on the same day however, some states only recognize only one. The Presidents Day holiday is a day to honor all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The story of Presidents’ Day is complicated. Washington’s Birthday was originally the name of the celebration. Today, it is Presidents’ Day.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. In the 1870s however, it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act was enacted by Congress.
Meteor showers
Each year, the Earth revolves in the solar system. This results in a flood of tiny meteors to be released into space. On the horizon, they are everywhere. Some showers seem more impressive in comparison to others. Nighttime is often the best moment to view.
Perseids is among the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year 2018. It is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was responsible. It’s visible only from the Northern Hemisphere. However, because the Southern Hemisphere has the highest fireball rates, it’s worthwhile checking out from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. The Quadrantid, number 1, is famous for its powerful but short peak. The other is the Lyrid. It is famous for its irregular surges. The Geminid is also well-known for its friendly appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a popular festival in ancient Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony was held in February. Priests offered animal sacrifices at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The hearth was filled with the animal’s blood. The grain fields were thought to be protected and fertility.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor of Ceres, the harvest goddess. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first documented in 202 BC.
Other well-known Roman festivities include Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. They were held originally to honor Mars, the god of war.Vestalia, according to some experts is the most popular among the three.
Roman workweeks lasted eight days. There were two phases of each day, the morning part as well as the evening. The nundin was comprised of 8 days. The rest of the year was made up by the remaining 29 days.
