February 14th

The idea for this custom originated from a discovery by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The idea was to forecast the next six weeks by studying the way animals react to weather conditions.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals includes groundhogs. In winter, their main purpose is to hibernate. In the early morning hours of Groundhog Day, they are often seen peeking out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight is observed on the third Monday of February, is considered to be to be a national holiday. It celebrates the former American presidents. It has been a day to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it’s a federal holiday not all states observe it. Certain states observe both birthdays of the presidents on the exact same day while other states may only recognize only one. While Presidents’ Day is now a common thing this holiday allows us to remember all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.

Roman holidays that date back to antiquity

Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few examples of the most well-known Roman celebrations. These celebrations were originally intended to celebrate Mars and the god of war.
The Roman workweek was 8 days long. Each day was divided into two parts: the morning, and the afternoon. The nundin was eight days long, and the remaining 29 days were called the rest of the days.
