February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a day that celebrates the love and passion of a person. It is observed every year. The holiday’s beginnings can be traced to the Middle Ages, a time where courtly love and sacraments were all the rage.
It was believed to be a celebration of romance between romantically connected friends from the fourteenth-century. Valentine’s Day is a time to send Valentine’s Day gifts and flowers.
In the early 19th century, commercial card were made easily available. Postcards that were printed in bulk gained popularity. These postcards were also well-liked in shops since they could be displayed with themes.
Valentine’s Day is an old custom. You could buy your loved one a chocolate gift or candy item, along with a bouquet of flowers or a card. It is also possible to give them jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. While it is also a popular holiday in Canada the Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday.
This celebration was born out of a belief in superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians who spoke Dutch. The American custom of making weather forecasts was brought to America by German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who gives forecasts for the remainder of winter.
The tradition was born out of a discovery by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The goal was to forecast the weather conditions for the six remaining weeks by studying how animals react to it.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals that have hair. It is hibernates in the winter. Groundhog Day mornings are a perfect time to see they are peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday in Februar, is considered an official holiday of the United States. It is a tribute to the past presidents of America. It was a time to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is a federal holiday not every state observes this holiday. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas other states are limited to one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely regarded as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
There is a long and complicated story behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday. Today, Presidents’ day is the official name.
Washington’s birthday also known by the title Washington’s Day was a well-known non-official holiday. It was recognized as a national holiday by Congress in the 1870s. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Storms of Meteors
Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. A torrent of small meteors is released into space. They are visible everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time for watching.
Perseids are the most powerful and beautiful meteor showers of the year. This is due to the fact that Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible for. While it is not visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the high rates of fireballs within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worthwhile to observe from that area.
Each year there are four major meteor showers. The Quadrantid is number one due to its power but brief peak. The Lyrid, another, is renowned for its peculiar surges. Furthermore the Geminid is renowned for its attractive appearance.
Roman holidays dating to antiquity
The Lupercalia was an ancient Roman holiday that was loved by many. A fertility and cleansing ceremony took place in the middle of February. Priests offered sacrifices of animals near the altar of Lapis Negiger in this ceremony. The hearth was saturated with blood of the animal. The fertility and protection of blood is believed to be beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was held in honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia and Saturnalia were some other well-known Roman festivals. These celebrations were originally meant to celebrate Mars the god of War.
Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two parts to every day: the morning and afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days, while the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
