The tradition was born out of a discovery by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The goal was to forecast the weather conditions for the six remaining weeks by studying how animals react to it.

Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae which is a small group of mammals that have hair. It is hibernates in the winter. Groundhog Day mornings are a perfect time to see they are peering out of their burrows.

Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday in Februar, is considered an official holiday of the United States. It is a tribute to the past presidents of America. It was a time to pay tribute to both Lincoln and Washington.

Although it is a federal holiday not every state observes this holiday. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas other states are limited to one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is widely regarded as an opportunity to recognize the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.

There is a long and complicated story behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday. Today, Presidents’ day is the official name.

Washington’s birthday also known by the title Washington’s Day was a well-known non-official holiday. It was recognized as a national holiday by Congress in the 1870s. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.

Storms of Meteors

Every year, the Earth’s orbit rotates around sun. A torrent of small meteors is released into space. They are visible everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more impressive than others. The best time for watching.

Neptunalia and Saturnalia were some other well-known Roman festivals. These celebrations were originally meant to celebrate Mars the god of War.

Roman working weeks lasted for eight days. There were two parts to every day: the morning and afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days, while the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
