Valentine’s Day is an annual holiday that is a celebration of love, passion , and is observed on February 14. It dates back as far as the Middle Ages, when love was more prevalent than courtly and sacramental.
It was seen as a celebration that celebrated romance between romantic partners and friends in the fourteenth century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send cards, flowers and presents to one another.
Commercial cards were made available from the beginning of the 19th century. The popularity of postcards that were printed in bulk was also growing. They were also very sought-after in shops because they could be displayed with themes.
Purchasing your special someone a chocolate or candy present and an arrangement or card, is a traditional Valentine’s Day tradition. It is also possible to gift jewelry.

Groundhog Day is observed annually on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada the Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday.
The celebration was born out of superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The tradition of forecasting the weather was brought to America by German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog, makes forecasts for meteorological conditions throughout the winter.
The story began when scientists found mice that were hibernating throughout the winter. The idea was to predict the following six weeks of the season by watching how animals reacted to conditions.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae group of tiny hairy mammals. They hibernate in winter. Groundhog Day is the most common day they can be in view from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents’ Daylight is regarded as a national holiday observed on the third Monday of February. It’s an honor to all previous American presidents. The Presidents’ Day holiday was usually a day dedicated to Lincoln and Washington.
It is a federal holiday which not all states observe, despite it being one. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents at the same time, while some states only recognize one. The Presidents Day is now a day to honor all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
It has a long story. Washington’s Birthday was the first name for this holiday.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly called Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. In the 1870s, it became a national holiday. This led to Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Storms of meteors
Every year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They are visible from anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more impressive than others. Nighttime is often the best moment to view.
Perseids is one of most stunning and spectacular meteor showers of the year 2018. It is possible that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible. Although it won’t be visible from the Northern Hemisphere due to the large number of fireballs that occur within the Southern Hemisphere, it is worthwhile to observe from that area.
There are four major meteor showers each year. The Quadrantid 1 is famous for its powerful but brief peak. Another well-known for its odd surges is the Lyrid. Additionally, the Geminid is renowned for its attractive appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was among the most popular holidays of ancient Rome. In February, a fertility-cleansing ceremony was conducted. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The animal’s blood was dumped in the hearth. The fertility and protection of blood is believed to have been beneficial to the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented from the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the well-known Roman celebrations. They were celebrated originally in honor of Mars, a god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. Each day had two parts: the morning or afternoon. Nundin was an 8-day collection, with the rest of the year being comprised of 29 days.
