Washington’s birthday, more commonly called Washington’s Day is a well-known unofficial holiday. In the 1870s, it became a national holiday. This led to Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.

Storms of meteors

Every year, Earth rotates around its sun. Small meteors are released into the atmosphere. They are visible from anywhere in the sky. Certain showers are more impressive than others. Nighttime is often the best moment to view.

Perseids is one of most stunning and spectacular meteor showers of the year 2018. It is possible that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is responsible. During this rite the priests offered sacrifices of animals on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The animal’s blood was dumped in the hearth. The fertility and protection of blood is believed to have been beneficial to the grain fields.

Ludi Ceriales was another celebration to pay tribute to Ceres (the goddess of the harvest). Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented from the year 202 BC.

Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the well-known Roman celebrations. They were celebrated originally in honor of Mars, a god of war.

Roman workweeks were eight days long. Each day had two parts: the morning or afternoon. Nundin was an 8-day collection, with the rest of the year being comprised of 29 days.
