February 14th
Valentine’s Day is a day that is devoted to love and romance which is celebrated every the 14th of February every year. It can be traced to the Middle Ages, when love was more common than courtly and sacramental.
It was believed to be a day of celebration that honored love between romantic partners and close friends during the 14th century. It was commonplace to give Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and other gifts to one another.
The early nineteenth century saw the advent of commercial cards. The popularity of postcards printed in bulk also grew. They were also very well-liked in shops since they were able to be displayed with themes.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your loved one a sweet or chocolate gift along with a card or flower. It is also possible to present them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. It is also a popular holiday in Canada, but Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrated in the United States.
The celebration originated from the belief in superstition of Pennsylvanians as well as Dutch people. The custom of forecasting weather was brought to America through German immigrants. The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals includes groundhogs. They hibernate in winter. Groundhog Day is a common time when they can be observed peering out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday in February is known as Presidents’ Daylight. It is considered a national holiday. It honors previous American presidents. The Presidents Day holiday has served as a day of honor for both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is an official holiday of the United States however, not all states observe the holiday in all states. Some states celebrate both the birthdays of the presidents on the exact same day while other states might only celebrate one. The Presidents’ Day holiday is now widely recognized as a day to honor all U.S. Presidents, especially Lincoln.
The history of Presidents’ Day is complex. Washington’s Birthday used to be the name used for the day of celebration. Now, it is known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday also known by the title Washington’s Day was a well-known not-official holiday. However, it was recognized as a federal holiday in the late 1870s. Congress passed the Uniform Monday holiday Act.
Meteor storms
Every year each year, the Earth passes through its orbit around the sun, causing a torrent of small meteors to explode into space. They are visible everywhere. Certain showers are more spectacular than other. The best time to view them is in the evening.
Perseids are the most powerful and beautiful meteor showers of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause of it. It will be visible from Northern Hemisphere. But, because the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most spectacular fireworks, it is only natural to also observe the phenomenon from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. One of them is Quadrantid. Its short , but massive peak is what makes it the most well-known. Another well-known for its odd spikes is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also well-known for its warm appearance.
Roman holidays from antiquity
The Lupercalia was a well-known festival in ancient Rome. In February, in the middle there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was held. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar for the Lapis Nuiger during the ceremony. The hearth was saturated with the animal’s blood. It was believed to be beneficial to the fertility and protection of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held to honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations can be traced back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia was among the most popular Roman festivities. These were originally celebrated in honor of Mars, a god of war.
Roman workweeks were eight days long. There were two phases to every day: the morning and the afternoon. The nundin lasted 8 days. The remainder of the year was made up by the remaining days.
