February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day which celebrates love and passion, is observed each year on February 14. The Middle Ages are the time when Valentine’s Day first observed. It was a time when courtly love and the sacraments still were commonplace.
It was considered to be the celebration of love between romantically involved friends from the fourteenth-century. It was customary to give Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and gifts to each other.
Commercial cards were available in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. In addition, postcards printed in bulk gained popularity. Themed displays of these postcards were displayed in retail stores.
Valentine’s Day traditions include buying your beloved a chocolate or chocolate gift along with a card or flower. It is also possible to present them with jewellery.

Groundhog Day is observed annually on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The tradition was conceived of as a superstition in the minds of Pennsylvanians Dutch immigrants. The American custom of making weather forecasts was brought to America with German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes meteorological predictions throughout the winter.
The practice was first introduced when scientists discovered mice that hibernate in the winter. The plan was to forecast the following six weeks of the season by observing how animals reacted to the conditions.
The Sciuridae family of tiny hairy mammals also includes groundhogs. In winter, their primary job is to go into hibernation. Groundhog Day is the most frequent day that they are observed looking out of their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday of February) is a holiday that is celebrated across the nation. It honors former American presidents. The Presidents’ Day was usually a day dedicated to Lincoln and Washington.
While it’s a federal holiday but not every state observes it. Some states recognize both presidents, whereas other states are limited to one. But Presidents’ Day is widely regarded as a time to celebrate all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
Presidents Day has had a tangled past. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the event. The day is now known as Presidents’ Day.
The most well-known holiday in the United States was the birthday of President Washington, also known as Washington’s Day. However, in the 1870s it became an official holiday recognized by the federal government. In reaction, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Meteors hurling storms
Every year, Earth moves around the sun. Each year, small meteors fall into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the skies. Some showers appear more impressive than other. Nighttime is typically the best time to watch.
Perseids are one of the most impressive and spectacular meteor showers that occur throughout the year. It is probable that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. It is visible from the Northern Hemisphere. But, considering that the Southern Hemisphere is home to some of the most spectacular fireballs, it is logical to be able to observe the phenomenon from that region.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. The Quadrantid is the first, and is known for its brief but powerful maximum. Another is the Lyrid, which is known for its unique surges. The Geminid is known for its casual appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is among the most popular holidays in the ancient city of Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony took place in the middle of February. Priests offered sacrifices of animals at the altar to the Lapis Nuiger at the time of the ceremony. The hearth was filled with blood of the animal. The protection and fertility of the blood is believed to be beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was held in honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to the year 202 BC.
Neptunalia, Saturnalia, Vestalia were just a few of the most well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were originally intended to honor Mars the god of war.
The Roman week was eight days long. Every day was divided into two parts: morning or afternoon. A nundin consisted of 8 days. The remainder of the year was made up by the remaining 29 days.
