March Catholic Calendar – There are many fun holidays for February. Many of them are celebrated all through the year. Some examples of these holidays include Valentine’s Day or Groundhog Day, Presidents’ Day, Groundhog Day or meteor showers. Additionally, there are numerous ancient Roman celebrations which take place on various days.
February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day that celebrates love and love, is celebrated annually on the 14th of February. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and ceremonies were more widespread.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada the Thanksgiving holiday is an American holiday.
A belief system among Pennsylvanians Dutch people led to the celebration. However, the practice of making predictions about weather conditions originated in the United States with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog who makes forecasts for the rest of winter.
The custom got its start when scientists found an animal that was hibernating in winter. The idea was to forecast the six weeks ahead by studying how animals react to the weather.
Groundhogs belong to of the Sciuridae family of tiny, hairy mammals. It hibernates during the winter. On the morning of Groundhog Day, they are often seen peeking out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight (third Monday in February) is a federal holiday. It pays tribute to past American presidents. Presidents’ Day is typically a day of celebration to honor Lincoln as well as Washington.
Even though it is an annual holiday of the United States, many states don’t observe it. Some states celebrate both presidents at the same time, while other states only honor one. Although Presidents’ day is now standard however, it is a good opportunity to honor the names of all U.S. presidents and especially Lincoln.
There is a long and complicated story behind Presidents Day. Washington’s Birthday was the first name of the day’s celebration. Today Presidents’ Day is the official name.

Meteor storms
Every year, Earth moves around the sun. Every year, tiny meteors are released into space. They can appear almost anywhere in the skies. Certain showers are more impressive than others. It is usually the nighttime moment to view.
Perseids are among the most impressive and spectacular meteor showers that occur throughout the year. It is because the comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause. There are four major meteor showers each year. The Quadrantid 1 is well-known for its potent but brief peak. The Lyrid also is famous for its unique surges. The Geminid is also renowned for its likable appearance.
Roman holiday celebrations in antiquity
The Lupercalia was among the most loved holidays in ancient Rome. The month of February was when a fertility cleansing ceremony was conducted. Priests offered animal sacrifices near the altar of the Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was cleansed of blood from the animal. The grain fields were thought to benefit from its protection and fertility.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held in honour of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations date back to 202 BC.
Other famous Roman celebrations are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. They were held originally to honor Mars god of war.Vestalia According to certain academics, was the most well-liked among the three.
Roman working weeks had eight days. Each day had two parts: morning or afternoon. Nundins were collections of eight days, while the remaining 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
