February 14th
Valentine’s Day (February 14th) is a day to celebrate the love and passion of a person. It is celebrated every year. The origins of the holiday can be traced to the Middle Ages when courtly love and sacraments became commonplace.
It was regarded as an occasion to celebrate love between romantic partners and friends in the fourteenth century. It was common to give Valentine’s Day flowers, cards and gifts to one another.
The first decade of the 19th century saw the advent of commercial cards. Popularity also grew for bulk-printed postcards. These cards were also sought-after in shops because they were able to be displayed in themes.
Valentine’s Day is an old custom. You could buy your beloved a chocolate gift or candy present along with the gift of flowers or even a card. You can also give jewelry.

Groundhog Day falls on February 2. It’s also a popular holiday in Canada however it’s an American Thanksgiving.
Superstition among Pennsylvanians Dutch people led to the celebration. The custom of forecasting weather was brought to the United States by German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog makes meteorological predictions for all of the winter.
The tradition originated from an observation by scientists that a mouse hibernated during winter. The idea was to forecast the six weeks ahead by studying the way animals react to weather conditions.
Groundhogs belong to of the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. It is hibernates in winter. The morning of Groundhog Day is when they can be seen peeking out of the burrows.
Christmas Day
The third Monday of February is Presidents’ Daylight. It is recognized as a national holiday. It pays tribute past American presidents. Presidents’ Day has traditionally served as a day to celebrate both Washington and Lincoln.
While it’s an official holiday of the United States however, not all states observe it. Some states recognize the presidents of both countries, while other states are limited to one. Presidents Day has become a day to honor the all U.S. presidents, including Lincoln.
The background of Presidents’ Day is a bit tangled. Washington’s Birthday was the initial name of the celebration that is now referred to as Presidents’ Day.
The most well-known holiday in the United States was the birthday of President Washington, also called Washington’s Day. It was officially recognized as a national holiday in the late 1870s. In response, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Meteor showers
Every year it is the time when the Earth passes through its orbit around the sun, creating an explosion of tiny meteors to fall into space. In the sky, they can appear all over the sky. Some showers seem more impressive than others. The best time to watch.
The Perseids meteor shower is among the most spectacular and most massive of the meteor showers. It is probable that the Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle is the cause. The Lupercalia is one of the most celebrated holidays in ancient Rome. A cleansing and fertility ceremony was held in the middle of February. Priests offered animal sacrifices near the altar of Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was filled with the blood of the animal. It was believed to be beneficial for the fertility of the grain fields.
Ludi Ceriales, another celebration was held in honour of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations are documented from 202 BC.
Neptunalia as well as Saturnalia were among the other popular Roman festivals that were well-known in the Roman world. These celebrations were originally held to honor Mars the god of war.
