February 14th
Valentine’s Day celebrates love and passion on the 14th of February every year. The Middle Ages were a time when love was commonplace and the sacraments were more popular.
It was considered to be a celebration of romance between romantically connected friends from the fourteenth-century. On Valentine’s Day, it was customary to send flowers, cards and presents to one another.
At the start of the 19th century commercial cards were already created. The popularity of postcards that were printed in bulk was also growing. These cards were then displayed in stores as themed displays.
Valentine’s Day is traditionally marked by giving your loved one a gift of candy or chocolate as well as flowers or a card. You might even choose to gift them jewelry.

Groundhog Day, which is observed on February 2 every year, is an annual event. It’s also a very popular holiday in Canada however, Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
This celebration was born out an old-fashioned belief system that was rooted in Pennsylvanians from the Dutch. However, the custom of making predictions about weather conditions was introduced to the United States with German immigration. Punxsutawney Phil is a Pennsylvania groundhog that makes predictions for the rest of winter.
The custom got its start when scientists found a mouse that hibernated during winter. The idea was to forecast the weather conditions for the remaining six weeks, by studying how animals react to it.
Groundhogs are part of the Sciuridae Family of small hairy mammals. It hibernates in winter. Groundhog Day is a common time when they can be seen peering out from their burrows.
Christmas Day
Presidents Daylight, which falls on the third Monday of February, is considered to be a national holiday. It is a day to honor previous American presidents. It is a day to honor both Lincoln and Washington.
Although it is a federal holiday but not every state observes the holiday in all states. Some states honor the birthdays of both presidents on the same day, while some states only recognize only one. But Presidents’ Day is widely recognized as a day to honor the achievements of all U.S. presidentials, particularly Lincoln.
It has had a complex background. Washington’s Birthday used to be the first name given to the celebration. It is now also known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday is a well-known and unofficial holiday, also known as Washington’s Day. It was declared a federal holiday by Congress in the latter 1870s. In reaction, Congress passed Uniform Monday Holiday Law.
Storms of Meteors
Every year, the Earth is in orbit around the sun, creating a torrent of small meteors to fall into space. They can be seen everywhere in the sky. Some showers are more spectacular than others. It is usually ideal to see the showers in the evening.
Perseids are the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. This is because Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle was the cause. It will be seen from the Northern Hemisphere, but as the Southern Hemisphere has some of the highest rates of fireballs and astrophysical activity, it’s also worth to look up from there.
There are four meteor showers that dominate the sky every year. The Quadrantid one is well-known for its potent but brief peak. The Lyrid Another one is renowned for its peculiar surges. In addition, the Geminid is renowned for its sexy appearance.
Roman holidays in antiquity
The Lupercalia is among the most well-known holidays of the ancient city of Rome. In February, in the middle there was a cleansing and fertility ceremony was held. In this ceremony, priests offered animal sacrifices on the altar alongside the Lapis Naiger. The animal’s blood was dumped in the hearth. It was thought that the hearth could provide fertility and security for the fields of grain.
Ludi Ceriales was another celebration in honor Ceres the goddess of harvest. Since 202 BC, Ludi Ceriales celebrations have been recorded.
Neptunalia as well as Saturnalia were some other well-known Roman celebrations. The celebrations were originally intended to pay tribute to Mars the god of war.
The Roman workweek was eight days long. Each day consisted of two parts: morning or the afternoon. Nundins were collections of eight days, while the other 29 days made up the remainder of the year.
