February 14th
Valentine’s Day, a day that is a celebration of love and passion, is observed each year on February 14. It is believed to date back as far as the Middle Ages, when love was more popular than sacramental and courtly.
It was a holiday that honored love between romantic partners and close friends during the 14th century. Valentine’s Day was the day to send one another flowers, gifts, and even cards.
Commercial cards were introduced in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. Popularity also grew for bulk-printed postcards. They were popular in shops as displays with themes.
Gifting your special someone an item of chocolate or candy and flowers or a card is a classic Valentine’s Day tradition. You could also think about gifting them jewelry.

Groundhog Day is celebrated annually on February 2. Even though it is popular in Canada but Thanksgiving is an American holiday.
The idea for this celebration came from a superstition that originated among Pennsylvanians who were Dutch. The tradition of forecasting weather was introduced to America through German immigrants. PunxsutawneyPhil, a Pennsylvania groundhog, makes meteorological predictions for all of the winter.
When scientists discovered that mice hibernated in winter, they set the stage for this habit. The plan was to forecast the following six weeks of the season by studying how animals responded to climate.
Groundhogs belong to the Sciuridae category of hairy mammals. They are winter animals and their primary function is to hibernate. The morning of Groundhog Day, they are often visible peeking out of burrows.
Christmas Day
On the third Monday of February President’s Daylight is recognized as an American holiday. It’s a tribute to all previous American presidents. It is a holiday that celebrates the two presidents, Lincoln, Washington, and it has been Presidents’ Day since its inception.
It is a federal holiday which not all states observe, despite it being one. Certain states observe both birthdays of the presidents on the same day . Other states might only celebrate only one. Presidents Day is now commonly celebrated as a time to celebrate every one of the U.S. presidents, especially Lincoln.
There is a complicated history of Presidents Day. The Washington’s Birthday was the original title of the holiday and is now known as Presidents Day.
Washington’s birthday, more commonly referred to as Washington’s Day, is an unofficial holiday that is well-known. But it became a recognized federal holiday in the late 1870s. In the end, Congress adopted the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
Storms of Meteors
Each year, Earth moves around the sun. Every year, small meteors fall into space. In the sky, they can appear all over the sky. Some showers are more spectacular than others. The best time for viewing them is at night.
Perseids are among the most spectacular and stunning meteor showers of the year. This is due to Comet 109P/Swift Tuttle. It will be seen from the Northern Hemisphere, but as the Southern Hemisphere has some of the most intense fireballs and astrophysical activity, it’s also worth to observe from there.
There are four major meteor Showers every year. The Quadrantid one is famous for its powerful but brief peak. Another notable for its unique surges is the Lyrid. The Geminid is also known for its approachable appearance.
Roman holidays that date back to antiquity
The Lupercalia was a major celebration in the ancient city of Rome. A fertility and cleansing ceremony was held in mid February. Priests offered animal sacrifices near the altar of Lapis Negiger during the ceremony. The hearth was saturated with the animal’s blood. The protection and fertility of the blood was believed to have been beneficial to the field of grain.
Ludi Ceriales is another celebration that was celebrated in honor of Ceres the goddess of harvest. Ludi Ceriales celebrations were first recorded in the year 202 BC.
Other popular Roman festivities are Neptunalia, Saturnalia and Vestalia. These were originally celebrated to honor Mars the god of war.
Roman workweeks ran for eight days. Each day had two parts: the morning, and afternoon. A nundin was a collection of eight days. the other 29 days made up the rest of the year.
